A picture paints a thousand words.... so why don't I make the photos I took of the various dishes on various visits the main feature of this article - here's my excuse for not being up to date on a write up!

A booking at Clipstone Restaurant is a must if you don't want to be disappointed. I have always managed to make one even on the morning for a lunch on the same day. The staff are fantastic - most welcoming and accommodating to your reasonable requests! I have had many a meal here, whether it is a get together, a semi business meal or a celebration. It may be a tad embarrassing if any of the staff remember me, maybe I have had too many meals here!

The dining room isn't large and it is usually packed with diners at all times. I love to see the mixture of different types of diners, from business lunches, to ladies that lunch, to romantic couples especially the one time when there was an elderly couple with impeccable manners! Not only did they dress for the occasion but they also had the manners/etiquette that we seem to have lost these days- the gentleman and believe me he totally owns the name "gentleman" was standing up and pulling out the chair for his "date". Normally my attention would always be with the people I am dining with but this time we were all enchanted by that couple.

For those who like their wine with their meal, do look at the chalk boards around the dining room as they have very interesting suggestions. My fellow diner on one occasion could not make up his mind, so we were served a sample of the wines to try out before ordering the ones we liked. Helpfulness and friendliness... tick!

The Clipstone was also one of the restaurants that I dined at after the covid lockdown - where there was the need to sterilise, sanitise, and keep a minimum distance from each other (not to forget to mention that you had to have your mask on at all times except when eating).  I remember I had a table for two for lunch and it was like a table for six. Despite all the restrictions, the service was friendly which I found so difficult to project behind a face mask. Even the way they explained that you had to distribute your own cutlery etc came across positively and despite having "one of hand tied behind their backs" they certainly made your dining experience pleasurable.
