For mains we went for the Braised Tripe, Sausage and Chickpea, Veal sweetbread, and the Roast Middle White, Trotter and Prune, and side of greens to clear our palate.

I think we had a bit of a raised eyebrow from our waiter - probably more about whether we could finish the plates or not. He was very pleasant and attentive, just a little less show of opinion would have made it better - I think after eating our lot so to speak, no more raised eyebrows in sight!

As I mentioned before, you really must like this genre of food or be particularly open. I actually read some reviews that either hate it or loved it.

Since I like offal, this is a great place to showcase this type of cuisine. The food is "heavy" especially as we ordered a few plates to share, so having sides that cut through the heaviness is a good option - better still a little Marc, Grappa or Schnapps would be excellent, to "make a hole", but we were on an alcohol free lunch so we didn't have that pleasure.

I really enjoyed my lunch, the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the attentive (just enough without being annoying) staff. I think the images pretty much showcase the food.

I actually refrained from eating too much bread which is fantastic to "mop up" the gravy with, but if you do eat too much bread, there wouldn't be room to appreciate more than one dish.

On the menu, I also spotted mussels, oysters and snails to name but a few. So unless you are an extremely large eater, a few trips to this restaurant is required to appreciate their menu range.

As we were all on water only, I cannot make much comment on their wine list. A good excuse to come again!
