Engawa (in Images)

I think the only way to experience Engawa is to go Omakase which is what these images depict. To accompany our dinner, we also ordered some Happo-shu, sparkling sake, and Engawa serves Shirakabegura Mio from Tokyo. We took this option rather than going for the sake pairing per course and the sparkling sake was wonderfully refreshing and low in alcohol content.

You really can’t say much other than the beef melts in your mouth, the sushi and sashimi quite the same effect – boring you might comment? Well you just have to go try it for yourself and the you’ll be using the same descriptive! Presentation and taste are both ‘beautiful’, this is all about the food and Engawa excels in their imagination/creativity to share this with you.

Engawa specialises in Kobe beef, the caviar of beef, but don’t mistake that for a lesser quality in their sushi and sashimi. The restaurant is also extremely small and compact, we were eight for dinner and we took up most of the restaurant!

Enjoy and perhaps salivate when you look at the images: click on a single image for a larger view.
