Afternoon Tea at Bea’s of Bloomsbury at St Paul’s

Tea time at Bea’s of Bloomsbury at their St Paul’s branch of Bea’s of Bloomsbury! Enticed by the decor and of course the cakes on offer, this was an afternoon high tea that required you to bring a large appetite, or have a healthy sweet tooth!

Bea’s of Bloomsbury at St Paul’s is located in One New Exchange on Watling street, and my friend and I decided to try their Full Afternoon Tea and to catch up with each other’s news. For this you must make a booking where they allot an hour and half for your afternoon tea experience, longer if you are a large group. There are also options to add a glass of Bottega Gold or champagne as part of your high tea experience (Afternoon tea options at Bea’s of Bloomsbury).

Our table was upstairs which had a wonderful view of the teapot lights which is part of their decoration, and next to us was also a wooden dresser lined with tea cups and saucers that had the right touch visually to enhance our experience.

For our afternoon tea, there was a selection of sandwiches on foccacia bread (tell them if you’re vegetarian so they can offer you their vegetarian selection), mini meringues and fruity marshmallows, three different types of brownies, cupcakes, and, freshly baked scones with cornish clotted cream and jam. Choose your tea from their tea menu at Bea’s of Bloomsbury: we had Jasmine Flowers and Petals, and, Peppermint Leaf. What a feast!

We were served by a very friendly Italian guy, actually, all the staff are extremely happy and friendly which really makes for the enjoyment and experience.

I don’t know how anyone could finish all that was served (we actually asked the Italian guy serving us this, and he did assure us it was possible for some), but Bea’s of Bloomsbury were fully prepared and he offered us little cardboard cake boxes to take away what we couldn’t manage to eat.

Conclusion: excellent sandwiches, cakes, meringues, brownies, scones etc.! Tea that was continually topped up… a great way to spend the afternoon catching up with friends.

I leave you with some images of our afternoon tea.
