Situated off Oxford Street on Berners Street just down the road from The Sanderson Hotel, Berners Tavern offers all day dining and by the looks of it, is at the time of this post, quite THE place to entertain. The place from what I could see, seemed constantly buzzing with people – business entertaining, social gathering, and just to be seen.
Berners Tavern is under the direction of Jason Atherton, and following the trend of late, offers extensive British Cuisine.
My first experience was for breakfast, and the breakfast menu is something you really need to spend time on – so many choices from the menu and combinations that you could request specially. All this and attended by a very friendly and informative waiting staff. For the three of us we ended up with Avocado on toast with poached eggs, poached eggs with bacon over a muffin, toasted English crumpets (extremely good and very different from what you normally find), scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, sides of bacon and sausages, polished off with English breakfast tea and caffe lattes! What can I say… our eyes lit up when we read the menu!
As our party were also guests at The London Edition, I can definitely assure you that on subsequent breakfasts, the full English breakfast, the organic oatmeal were also tried among other items, and very much appreciated.
Breakfast at the Berners Tavern turned out over the week to be a very decadent way of passing most of the morning. So this is just breakfast at the Berners Tavern – attentive waiting staff, expansive breakfast selection, a good way to start your day.
Let me know your breakfast experience at the Berners Tavern, what did you try?
